Are You Concerned That You’re At Risk For A Serious Health Condition?

Recently, you’ve felt tired, drained, and unmotivated. With each passing year, you’ve noticed yourself slowing down. You miss the energy you used to have, and you might even be struggling with weight gain, chronic stress, or unexplained aches and pains.

Perhaps you’re worried that you’re at a higher risk for a condition like cancer, diabetes, or heart disease because of your family history, and your symptoms have only heightened your concerns. But if your doctor has recommended that you take medication to treat or prevent a certain health issue, you might be nervous about the side effects.

Lifestyle Habits Can Lead To Debilitating Problems

Although family history does play a role in the development of chronic disease, lifestyle factors also have a significant influence. While genetics are unchangeable, lifestyle habits can be more influential than inherited risk. Maybe you suspect that your diet, sleep schedule, or high levels of stress are contributing to your struggles, but your attempts to adopt healthier routines have never really stuck.

Furthermore, hormone production gradually declines with age. While this decline is natural, the physical symptoms can still be frustrating, especially for women going through menopause. As your levels of estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone drop, you might experience a decreased libido, hot flashes, or body aches. Men can also struggle with a decline with similar symptoms known as andropause. In the face of such pain, you’re probably curious about potential solutions.

Maybe you’ve brought up your concerns with your medical provider, only to be dismissed or ignored. You’re desperate to find someone who will listen and guide you through the healing process. By working with a doctor who specializes in preventative medicine, you can find someone who can empathize with your pain and help you start your journey towards holistic healing.

Many People Struggle With Chronic Health Issues

Today, countless people live with chronic health conditions. Obesity rates continue to rise and heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States.

Many chronic conditions are preventable with the right approach to nutrition, exercise, stress management, hormonal balance, and other natural interventions. But our fast-paced society makes it difficult to stay fit, eat well, get enough sleep, and manage stress.

What’s more, our culture often focuses on the genetic roots of many diseases, ignoring the role that lifestyle choices can play. But even when a condition cannot be completely prevented with lifestyle changes, it is possible to reduce your symptoms by adjusting your lifestyle.

Most Doctors Focus On Medication Instead Of Looking For The Root Cause

Unfortunately, doctors are often quick to prescribe medications to their patients rather than consider preventative healthcare, even when lifestyle interventions could effectively eliminate or lessen their symptoms. Furthermore, introducing even one medication can often result in a cascade of problems. Someone might begin taking a particular medication to treat one symptom, only to develop new symptoms because of the side effects. As a result, their doctor might prescribe yet another medication, kicking off a cycle that is difficult to break out of.

Additionally, most doctors have received little training in regards to nutrition. And when it comes to managing hormones, most do not understand the innumerable health-related benefits of using bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) in both men and women.

Although medication can be very helpful, many doctors view it as the only solution. With the help of a doctor who understands preventative treatment you can address hormonal imbalances, start a fitness routine, change your diet, and adopt a consistent sleep schedule. With a commitment to positive lifestyle changes, you can improve your overall health . (delete>>without medication. REASON MOST pt. think of hormones  and synthetic RX ALL the same as “MEDICATIONS”)

Preventative Medicine Can Help You Regain Your Vitality

As a board-certified OB/GYN, I spent years prescribing synthetic hormones to my clients. After caring for many of the same clients for over two decades, I realized the limitations of the current medical model. However, when I began prescribing BHRT for those very same conditions, I started to witness impressive results. This journey prompted me to dive deeper into preventative medicine and explore other modes of health maintenance through diet, exercise, nutritional supplementation, stress management, and spiritual balance.

In 2017, I closed my surgical practice and began solely working with clients on BHRT and preventative health services. Today, I help clients who are searching for a doctor that will truly listen and support them on the path to holistic healing. I work with a wide range of clients, including women entering menopause, men dealing with andropause, and younger clients who are struggling with hormonal imbalances or other reproductive health concerns like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

What To Expect During Consultations

We’ll begin with an initial free phone consultation to discuss your health history and determine if we would be a good fit. Before your intake consultation, you will fill out a comprehensive questionnaire and undergo a lab panel, which we will review when we meet. Your first consultation will allow me to develop a big-picture perspective on your overall health , and  by the end of that consultation your plan will be formulated.. Your second consultation will take place about six weeks later, when we will discuss your most recent lab results to assess your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

We will schedule future consultations every four to six months. Typically, clients commit to a treatment plan for a minimum of one year, as real and sustainable change does not occur overnight.

During consultations, we will discuss your health concerns, your goals, and your progress. I will also focus on client education so that you can be informed and empowered when it comes to your health.

Lifestyle Changes For Your Long-Term Health

Every client has their own unique needs. We will develop a customized treatment plan based on your current lifestyle, your health concerns, and your personal goals. My clients typically need support in balancing their hormones, so we’ll begin by assessing your hormone levels to determine your BHRT needs. While BHRT is at the core of my approach to preventative medicine, I will also give you recommendations for nutrition, supplementation, fitness, sleep, coping with stress, and even exploring spiritual practices like meditation.

However, I will not overwhelm you with recommended lifestyle changes all at once. Instead, we will focus on developing one good habit at a time. For instance, if you’re having trouble sleeping, we will work to adjust your sleep schedule. Once you’re consistently getting enough sleep each night, you’ll have more energy during the day, and you can commit to a basic fitness routine. We will develop plans to help you stay accountable to these changes, as consistency is the key to healing.

By taking a proactive approach to managing your own health, you can focus on prevention rather than relying on medication to attempt to treat symptoms. This process takes time and persistent effort, but with support and encouragement, you have the power to heal through preventative medicine.

But You May Still Have Questions About Preventative Medicine…

Is it safe to take hormones as a form of preventative medicine?

If you’ve been told that hormone replacement therapy exacerbates your risk of developing cancer, and heart disease, you may be hesitant to pursue this form of treatment. However, bioidentical hormones are similar to those produced by your own body, and today, evidence-based research shows that BHRT does not cause cancer. In fact, BHRT can actually protect against cancer and cardiovascular disease !

Will it take a long time to see the benefits of these lifestyle changes?

Healing does not happen overnight. While the traditional medical model promises fast results through medication, reaping the benefits of lifestyle changes can take some time. You must play an active role in your own healing, and in the long run, your efforts will certainly pay off. With patience and commitment, you can bring positive change into every area of your life and become a healthier, more empowered version of yourself.

Can I really take hormones for more than 3 to 5 years?

While taking synthetic hormones for any length of time can pose health risks, BHRT is a safe, natural treatment. If you experience benefits from your BHRT regimen, there is no reason to discontinue the treatment. And if you’re still feeling hesitant, I will supply you with evidence-based literature and educational resources so that you can feel secure in your choice to use BHRT. But the best endorsement of this process is how you feel after improving upon your symptoms and healing chronic health issues.
